OUR HERITAGE

Perfumer and cosmetician Armand Petitjean founded Lancôme in 1935. In 1965, with the creation of Absolue, Petitjean crafted Lancôme's most premium skincare collection, fusing nature and science. Throughout the years, he harnessed the life power of the rose making it the origin of Lancôme's iconic skincare ingredients.

Since its beginning, Absolue has combined cutting-edge skin regeneration science with ultimate sensoriality to offer the ideal formula for all skin types. PRO-XYLANE

The result of 7 years of research, Pro-Xylane™ is one of the most powerful and complete anti-ageing molecules to have been identified by L’Oréal’s research. This molecule targets the reinforcement of the extra-cellular matrix of the skin. From this discovery onwards, Absolue was enriched with the patented scientific breakthrough molecule, Pro-Xylane™, and the intensely replenishing Bio-Network to rejuvenate and nourish the skin.

In 2012 Lancôme unveiled its hyper-luxury expertise with the creation of Absolue L’Extrait. In 2018 Lancôme reinvented its most luxurious franchise, Absolue, and offered a new definition of premium French skincare. SKIN LONGEVITY SCIENCE

In 2021, Lancôme Absolue entered a new scientific frontier set to define the next generation of skincare. This remarkable breakthrough was Skin Longevity Science: a promising scientific field that corrects visible ageing signs at a molecular level with the discovery of the role of the AMPK, the longevity molecule. When AMPK is activated, the skin’s surface behaves in a healthier way, with improved barrier function, regeneration and defense against aggressors.
